LoverBoy was taken from us too early by a rare cancer in dogs that is not inherited.
Mesothelioma is considered a "Bad Luck" cancer. No sign of what caused this was found.
We are very proud to present LoverBoy, our first boy of Golden Clover and our FIRST AKC CHAMPION and now a Canadian Champion as well in 2010! We are thankful that Julie and Cortney Corral entrusted us with this wonderful dog. He has brought much joy to our family. He is a fun-loving dog that exemplifies the golden temperament. He lives up to his name for sure! He loves to show and is a moderate, very "typey" golden. LoverBoy is a MOVER! Judges love his type, his movement, his rock solid topline , his expression and his animation in the ring. He is clean coming and going, has great foot timing and fabulous side gait plus he has beautiful black pigment excentuating his expressive eyes. He has no allergies and has all his clearances. Judge Dana Cline stated that we need to see more of his type in the ring.
We believe in brains and beauty in our breeding program. LoverBoy is now training for his WC/WCX. Mitch White commented to Leo at his field training workshop that Leo had "something to work with" and "He is an Indy Racecar!" We believe fully in a well-rounded golden that can work in the field and be conformationally superior. I have decided to also start working on obedience training for the ring!
LB stands at 23.5”, 68.5 pounds and is a moderate golden all the way around. His outline resembles that of a true golden. He is not overly done but is beautifully built to be a very “typey” golden retriever with an outstanding, eager, confident and loving personality that a golden is expected to possess. This spirit-filled boy loves to show and loves to play. He is level-headed and is a joy around other dogs. LoverBoy has a face and expression that can make the most serious judge smile and want to pet him. He has movement that demands attention as he carries his rock-solid topline around the ring. It is effortless movement, with a powerful, ground-covering stride with outstanding reach and drive as well as clean movement coming and going which indicates that he is well put together. He is a picture of beauty when he free baits with his tail coming right off his back, and his eyes alert, and ears forward. LoverBoy may be beautiful but he is also an athlete and is well muscled. His medium golden coat with light furnishings is easy to maintain with seldom a matt and is a correct, water repellent, double coat. He has dark pigment and a scissors bite with correct dentition. Importantly, LoverBoy is also allergy free. LoverBoy is biddable and loves to please. He has sired puppies with 13,10, 8, and 6 pups in a litter with equal distribution of males and females. His puppies are intelligent and trainable as well as beautiful. References and health info. are available.
LoverBoy finished with a 4 Point Kansas City Specialty Major in June 08, going BOW and a 5 Point Major going BOW and the JAM in the Louisville Clusters in February 09. Two weeks later, he won BOB and a Group 3 at the Syracuse New York shows. In May 09, he took BOB at the Apple Blossom Cluster in Michigan. As a youngster, he went BOB over Specials and took a Group 3 2006.
He has six very nice litters with puppies in performance homes and show homes. New owners are raving about how smart, trainable, beautiful and sweet the puppies are. He has sired litters of 13, 10, 8 (multiple) and 6 with equal distribution of male and females. The puppies can be seen on our friends pages, Pups! page and growing puppies pages and below.
